Disney World Agent Education Program Day 3

Day three already!

This day started like the day before. We had lessons in the rooms at the Boardwalk. We learned about social media rules and marketing. Then, we headed out for more site tours!

First stop, Wilderness Lodge! I stayed here in September with our great friends, so it was fun to visit again!

We ate lunch in one of the table service restaurants here called Whispering Canyon Cafe. I can tell you that there is VERY little whispering going on here. The antics are hysterical. Mickey and Minnie don't come here, but that doesn't mean there aren't any characters! The cast members here are SO funny! Be sure to ask for ketchup if you dine here, and don't get caught taking a bite of someone else's plate! I asked for something, and the waitress told me that if I thought I could do a better job, I should just work here. So she took off her apron and gave it to me! Then I had to lead a pony parade. In other words, if you're looking for a quiet place to have dinner, this is not your best option!

This resort is so well thought out. This fireplace is scaled just like the Grand Canyon. The layers are the same and are proportional. I LOVE that.

Artist Point is the signature place in this resort. The ceiling in the bar area has the Lewis and Clark maps, which means that my husband, who is an "enthusiast" is dying to go!

Up next were the cabins at Fort Wilderness. Fort Wilderness is really a unique place. You can rent a campsite, an RV hookup, or a cabin. The cabins sleep 6, and they have all been newly renovated. If you stay here, you really should plan on renting a golf cart. It's a pretty big stretch to get to get to the transportation centers. They also go all out decorating for the holidays, which is SO fun! If you get a chance to explore FW, you should take it. We love both the Hoop de Do Revue and Mickey's Backyard BBQ.

Our final site tour on this day was Port Orleans Riverside. Riverside is a gorgeous resort. I think it's a fantastic value. It's a moderate resort, but it is very very nice. There are these wonderful Royal Rooms. Our family stayed here over Christmas last year, and we loved it. There are all kinds of little touches in the room that are SO much fun! The headboard lights up with fireworks, which our boys loved.

The pool here is fantastic too. It has a fun splash area for the smaller kids. One real benefit here is that you can actually swim in both this pool and the Port Orleans French Quarter. Most resorts at Disney World don't allow pool hopping, but this is one exception.

They also have rooms that sleep 5, which is nice for larger families. Check out this cute fold down bed art. I love the little surprises!

After this tour, I did head back to Animal Kingdom Lodge. I had a trip to book (YAY! I love booking trips!). I also had more late night plans, so wanted to pull myself together! I popped into the Mara, which is the quick service location to grab a little food. I got the iconic snack from AKL called Zebra Domes! They are DELICIOUS! If you are at this resort, be sure to pick them up here or go to Boma to get them! Yum yum.

I decided to try out something new during my free time. So, I bought tickets to Disney After Hours.  I have an annual pass, so the cost was $79 instead of $120. The actual event happened from 8-11. They say that you can get in at 7, but the word on the street now is that you can actually get in at 4 (like the parties). Since I have an AP, I didn't try that out. I arrived around 7:15 or so.

I headed over to the Space Mountain gift shop to exchange my fuel rod so I had plenty of charge on the trip. I'll do a whole blog post on these soon. I love this thing!

I had a little bit of time to kill and a little bit of work to do....so I hopped on the PeopleMover. What better place to catch up on your email than from the comforts of one of my favorite attractions.

On my view, I could see that Buzz Lightyear had almost no line. So I ran down and said hello. He was hilarious!

So here's my attraction list from 8-11:
Wishes
Teacups
Dumbo
Barnstormer Twice
Little mermaid
7 Dwarves Mine Train
Frozen banana
Pooh
Cinderella
Elena
Rapunzel
Tiana
Mickey ice cream sandwich and water
Peter Pan
Small world
Haunted Mansion
Pirates
Popcorn and water
Astro orbiter
Space Mountain
Talking Mickey

We literally ran from attraction to attraction to do as much as possible in our time. It was awesome. Getting to walk onto these attractions was just the best! The snacks were included, which is why we just grabbed them to try them all. I loved this event. It is probably best for you if you are in a small group and don't have too many small children (so you can run and you aren't too past bedtime). It was a blast!
