What is a Fast Pass?
A fast pass is basically a way for you to plan ahead of time and skip the line on an attraction. Everyone in Disney World has access to the Fast Pass Plus system included in the price of their tickets.
How many do I get?
You get three (plus one) fast pass. Basically, use up your first three. Then, you can log onto the My Disney Experience app while you are at Disney World and pick a fourth one. The fourth is typically not a high-demand attraction, but you still get to skip the line, which is always great!
Where do I get these things?
You will find them at www.mydisneyexperience.com
When you have a package or tickets linked to a MDE account, you will have access to Fast Passes.
Click, make a selection. Then, it will ask you who is going on this attraction in your party. You should note that if you have children under three, they will be in your MDE account, but they do not get a fast pass because they do not have tickets. They can still go on any attraction (that they are tall enough for of course), but they do not need a Fast Pass.
Then you will be asked to pick a date and a park. While planning this, note that you can only pick your three in one single park, even if you have parkhoppers. Then you will asked to choose your attraction.
And a time. Notice that under the time, you can expand and look at more times. So you aren't limited to the times it initially gives you.
And finally you confirm it, and it will show up on you main screen. It's important to remember that you have the whole hour to get there. You don't need to feel like you have to rush to get to the attraction at the start of the Fast Pass time. If you are a minute early, they won't let you in. However, there is usually a grace period of about 10 minutes at the end time.
When can I get them?
If you are staying on Disney property, you have access to them 60 days before the start of your trip at 7 am Eastern time. If you are staying elsewhere, you have access to them 30 days out at 7 am Eastern.
Do I pay for them?
Nope! Well, you did pay for your tickets, and they are included in the price of your ticket.
Can I get more of them?
You get the three planned ahead of time. Once you scan through your third one on your trip, you will have access to a fourth.
Which ones are in high demand?
You will notice that some Fast Passes disappear quickly! Right now, the most popular one is for Frozen Ever After in Epcot. After that, Seven Dwarves Mine Train in Magic Kingdom would be the next most popular. Basically, the longer the line, the more popular the Fast Pass! That means you want to grab those up as soon as you can!
Do you have suggestions on which ones I should get for each park?
A lot of this depends on the age and make up of your family. If you have older kids or you yourself love thrill ride, you will want to put any of the roller coasters at the top of your FP list (Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, 7DMT, Rock and Roller Coaster, Everest). If you have a particular character that is really important such as talking Mickey or Cinderella, you will want to grab those up too.
